Taxi Driver Medical for your council
A Taxi driver medical can be completed by our General Practitioner, However your Council or Local Authorities (and not the DVLA) decide who can carry them out. Most Local Authorities or Council allow any GP to perform a Taxi Medical where as some state only the driver’s own General Practitioner may do so.
Please obtain the required medical form and confirm with your Local Council or Authority that any GP can complete your medical before booking to avoid disappointment.
WHAT’S INVOLVED
Our examination will vary between each Local Authority / Council as they decide what questions and tests are involved in the Taxi medical. But all medicals include an eye test, and a blood pressure test. Every medical must follow the same guidelines that a driver must reach Group 2 Medical Standards. You can find your medical form online and see what’s involved by visiting your Local Authority’s website and searching for ‘Taxi Licensing’.
